Baby Steps
No, this post is not about Henry learning to walk. Although we are pleased with how mobile he's getting, walking is still a ways off.
No, this post is entitled "Baby Steps" in reference to the approach to life that Richard Dreyfuss shares with Bill Murray's character in 1991's classic movie, "What about Bob?"
I know that it's been a while since we posted. And it's been weighing on me. And the more time that passes, the more post-worthy things that happen, the more daunting it is to dive back in and try to make up for lost time.
So here is our baby step:
Here is Megan watching her favorite channel. We don't have cable, never have, so we're somewhat captive to what the airwaves bring into our home. Megan typically enjoys watching everything that PBS kids has to offer, but one day when our reception was terrible, we flipped the channel and stumbled onto something called "Qubo," which is a station that strangely plays a mix of children's programming and infomercials.
A few days went buy, and we quickly developed an infomercial junkie.
It is now common occurence for Megan to be sitting there watching Kim do the dishes, and say, "Mom, you really need to get a Turbo Snake, it's the fastest way to clear any clog in your drain, guaranteed!" Or she'll see me putting my clothes away and she'll say, "Dad, look at that closet. You could really get a lot more space if you used the wonder hanger."
Needless to say, we've put our credit cards under lock and key.
